Watch out or you just might get slammed by one of  the huge icicles hanging off buildings in Reykjavík. We recommend wearing a cap, or even a helmet while strolling around town. We haven’t actually heard of anyone who’s been hit by one of these spikes, but the police are giving out icicle warnings, so we figure it’s better to be on the safe side.

The icicles – named after Icelandic Christmas hag/menace Grýla – are pretty intimidating but thanks to the oncoming storm, they’re melting away. And thus, Christmas was saved!
